Prime Minister Atmanirbhar Swasth ( Swasthya ) Bharat Yojana –
A new scheme was launched by the Government of India for 6 years with an outlay of Rs 64180 crore, the Prime Minister ( PM ) Atma Nirbhar Swasth ( Swasthya ) Bharat Yojana.
Objectives of the scheme
- Under this scheme, the capabilities of primary, secondary, and tertiary health systems will be developed, further strengthen existing institutions.
- New institutions will also be opened so that we can detect, control, and find a cure for new diseases coming in the future. So that in the future we will not have to face pandemics like coronavirus. This will be an addition to the National Health Mission.
Under Prime Minister Atmanirbhar Swasth ( Swasthya ) Bharat Yojana –
1- Support from the government to 17788 rural and 11024 urban health and wellness centers.
2- Establishment of integrated Public health laboratories in all districts.
3- 3382 Public health units in 11 States.
4- Establishment of critical care hospitals in 602 districts.
5- 9 Biosafety Level III Laboratories and Establishment of 4 regional National Institute for Virology.
6- Operation of 17 new public health units and strengthening 33 existing public health units.
7- To establish 15 health emergency operations centers and 2 mobile hospitals.
8- Further strengthening the National Center for Disease Control, its 5 regional branches, and 20 metropolitan health Surveillance units.
9- A Regional Research Platform for the WHO South-East Asia Region.
